Instagram lets you download a copy of your information. FollowCheck reads the followers and following lists from that file, right in your browser, and compares them.

Getting your export

  1. 01

    Open Instagram

    Go to your profile, tap the menu (☰), then Accounts Center.

    Your information and permissions

    Inside Accounts Center, choose Your information and permissions.

    Export your information

    Tap Export your information, then Create export.

    Choose your Instagram profile

    Pick the account you want to check.

  5. 05

    Export to device

    Choose Export to device (not to a cloud service).

    Customize information

    Deselect everything, then select only Followers and following. This keeps the file small and fast.

    Date range: All time

    Important — a shorter range gives incomplete results.

  8. 08

    Format: JSON or HTML

    Either works. JSON is slightly faster.

    Create export

    Instagram will notify you when it's ready — usually minutes, sometimes hours.

    Download and upload the ZIP
